In the Waldorf handwork curriculum, crochet is usually taught in second grade -- however, any Waldorf
curriculum should be tailored to the needs of your specific child. Feel free to follow your instincts.
The Handwork teacher who spoke at Rahima Baldwin Dancy's Waldorf in the Home conference in October 2007 said
that although wooden knitting needles are the norm, crochet needles should not be made of wood. Go with
metal.
